3-2-1 Workout

by Matt on June 5, 2012

Good morning!

I normally go to 5:30 AM spin on Tuesday mornings, but a few taps on the snooze button put a damper on my plans. Eh, no big deal. I decided to just run instead :)

These days, I’ve been trying my hardest to switch up my running routine. I feel like I’ve been doing some sort of intervals or workout every single day! I used to be completely satisfied with just “running,” but lately, I’ve been a little bored with it. It’s time to add something to the mix.

Today, I just made up a little something as I went along…

  • 15 minute warm-up
  • 3 minutes at a moderate pace
  • 2 minutes at a higher intensity
  • 1 minute at an even higher intensity
  • Repeat 5 times
  • 15 minute cool-down

Running at a higher intensity definitely helps me to pass the time. Workout accomplished.

I had a little bit of extra time this morning before I needed to head out, so I made pancakes!

It was the perfect mid-week treat. I normally only have time to eat a quick bowl of cereal or an egg sandwich, but today is a little bit different. More details to come!

Now, I actually need to get started on my day…

Wish I had the time for pancakes this morning – overnight oats save the day when I’m running late, though!

I’m so used to seeing you eat eggs all the time! So these pancakes must have been really good. And good for you for still getting that run in, it is really quite easy to get a workout in if you quit snooze, just change your plans! I used to use oversleeping as an excuse to skip a workout completely way back when, but running is so fast because you can just walk out your front door and bam, workout begins.
