Brr! It’s cold outside!
I woke up this morning and I was FREEZING. I haven’t turned on my heat yet, so that might have something to do with it…
I turned on the oven last night to make dinner and that really helped. I have a rule that I’m not allowed to turn on the heat until December. Just a few more days!
I had to get my weekly dose of red meat. I am loving the grass fed beef from Genesis Beef. If you live in the Dallas area, I highly recommend that you check it out!
It was definitely a gym kind of morning. I have no problems admitting that I’m a total wimp this time of year. During the winter months, I run inside when it’s below 40* (my magic weather number). Hey, I grew up in Texas. I’m allowed to be a cold weather wimp.
The key to working out indoors and not going completely insane is to challenge yourself and constantly changed the speed/incline. Trust me, it will keep you from falling asleep.
This is what I did this morning:
(I kept the incline at 1.0)
You can obviously change the pace around to suit your abilities, but for me, constantly having to think about what interval is next keeps my mind engaged.
I will do any workout on a treadmill but a long run. That’s just pure torture. Multiple hours running at a constant pace? No thanks. I’ll get a little cold for that one.
Are you a wimp like me? Or do you brave the cold?

Your burgers always look freaking amazing.

I think I’d fall off the treadmill at 10 MPH!

Holy moly, that it cold! Love the interval workout. You’re speedy! I can get up to 11, but I do my sprints 30 on, 45 off on the sides.

My wimpyness is evident that not only will I not run outdoors in those temps, but I turned on my heat like 2 months ago!

I only wish it were 37 degrees when I work out in the morning! It was 17 degrees yesterday morning!!! Eek. And I’ve noticed that the older I get, the more of a wimp I become. I used to brave any weather. Then, I changed it to I’d only run outside if was above 0. And nowadays, I go for above freezing.

I haven’t turned on my heat either. And can barely convince myself to run the 4 minutes to the gym in the morning!

I feel ya on the cold weather. It makes me just want to stay home in my PJ’s with the heater on high and be very unproductive all day, haha. Good thing winter break is almost here!

I’m a complete wimp when it comes to the cold, which is problematic considering that I live in the land of ice and snow. Seriously though, when it gets too cold I have a hard time finding the motivation to leave my bed, much less my house.

I hate the cold!! But it was only 27 degrees here this morning with a high of 49! Take me back to summer!!!

That is a serious treadmill workout!
I brave the cold on the weekends because those are reserved for my long runss. (It was 25 degrees when I ran this weekend! Brrrr…). During the week I run on the treadmill. I can’t deal with more than an hour on that thing though.

Being from Alabama, I am a total wimp about running in the cold. Anything below 40 and I’m gymmin’ it up.
OHMYGOSH that run looks so hard! You’re amazing! I’d be dying if I attempted those speeds for that long. Good for you
My apartment is chilly too… it’s about time to buy a snuggy.

As soon as it gets cold enough that I have to wear a jacket, I am all about the treadmill. Absolute wuss!
The boyfriend and I bought a space heater a few weeks ago and it is quite honestly the smartest investment to date. Warm without driving up the heating bill.

I’m a huge wimp too, 50 degrees is my limit, you can’t even get me outside to run when it’s any colder than that. I’ve also been sleeping with a space heater in my room since October because my roommates don’t want to turn the heat on!
