Getting Kozy

by Matt on August 14, 2011

Guess who I met up with for dinner last night?

Clare!

We ended up going to a place called Kozy (which my sister recommended).

This casual cafe with an eclectic vibe has a serious emphasis on fresh and organic ingredients. Kozy Kitchen believes in using organic products as much as possible, including grass fed beef and wild seafood, while delivering great food.

It was a lot different than I expected!

The location was way off in the back and it was fairly small. It probably only seated about 30 people, tops.

Regardless of the exterior, it was pretty good!

Kozy Salad with Scallops: Diver Sea Scallops over organic mixed greens,
fresh berries, cucumbers, apples and bleu cheese

(I ended up ordering more bleu cheese. Love that stuff.)

Hands down, scallops are my favorite seafood.

When cooked properly, they are tender, buttery, and melt in your mouth good.

Sweet potato hash browns

We originally ordered these to share, but they had bacon in them (which is why they were so flippin’ good).

After we each had a few bites, I mentioned that the smoky flavor was from bacon. Since Clare is a vegetarian, I was on hash brown duty :)

Mmmm…

The rest of the night was spent gossiping about other bloggers.

Yes, I am five years old. No shame!

It’s great to have a foodie friend in the area :)

Eeehhee I would have never taken you for a gossiper ;) I didn’t go out to eat this weekend because it was my mom’s turn to cook. She made vegi lasagna with 4 different types of cheeses. I died.
