It seems like everything in the grocery store is getting more and more expensive.
I seriously think I spend $10-15 on cereal and granola each week! Cereal is one of my go to options for a quick meal or snack when I’m in a rush. I’d be lying if I said that I didn’t have it for dinner last night…
However, when each box is $4-5, it adds up pretty quickly!
The downside is that granola is even more expensive.
Sure it’s convenient (and extremely tasty if you buy the right brand), but it’s so easy to make at home, more cost effective, and you control the ingredients.
Plus, you can customize it any way you want!
Does it get any better than that?
I love granola. It’s amazing.
It’s a great midday snack day, but it’s also a perfect addition to breakfast. It goes great with yogurt, fruit, cereal, or even a topping on pancakes or waffles.

I have never made granola at home but I might have to start. I try to buy it in the bulk bins at the store because it is cheaper than the packaged stuff, but making it at home is definitely the cheapest way.

Looks super crunchy! My favorite type of granola. You can’t beat whole almonds.

sounds great! i’ve been using brown rice syrup in my granola lately and it seems to make it a bit more crunchy than honey does, which i love!

I always make my own – it also lets you control the sugars that they dump into many store bought granolas. and it’s fun to experiment with the mix-ins! I love adding peanut butter to mine.
I was just thinking of how I wanted to stop at the store and pick up some things to make granola. This may be the winning recipe!

Seriously. I refuse to buy cereal unless it’s on BOGO. But this sounds like an awesome recipe to me, and looks tastier than the stuff on the shelf.

Way to stick it to tha man! :p Besides the fact that it’s cheaper, I like the fact that you can make whatever flavor your taste buds desire.

honey and almonds are my fave things to add to granola!! I actually started kind of exclusively making my own – I eat it less often than cereal so its def not worth it to spend lots of money on a good brand. homemade FTW!
