My Firsts

by Matt on December 1, 2012

Happy Sunday!

I’m still in shock over the SEC Championship My dad and I were planning on going, but we decided that the price of the tickets just wasn’t worth it. We went to the Alabama Alumni game watching party instead! We had to leave a little bit early, but I caught the end of the game. It was definitely a nail biter!

I don’t really have much else to report this weekend, so I thought I’d do a fun survey that I found on Brittany’s blog.

1. First thing you do when you wake up in the morning.

I hit the snooze! My alarm goes off every morning at 4:45 and I get up at 4:54 since my snooze is 9 minutes. Works for me!

2. First thing you reach for when you open the fridge.

Hmmm…

It really depends on the time of day. First thing in the morning, I usually reach for almond milk for my coffee or just water.

Sometimes it’s a Kombucha. It just depends.

3. First things you do when you go to the gym.

I grab a towel, turn on the fans if I’m the first one there, then work out.

I actually have a pretty funny towel related story that happened at the gym. When I lived at my old apartment complex, I caught someone getting a towel out of the USED TOWEL BIN (they were out of clean ones). I was in shock. I laughed every single time I saw him from that day forward.

4. First thing you do when you get home from work?

Put on my tennis clothes if I’m going to tennis or my PJ’s if I’m staying home.

5. First car.

2001 Toyota Avalon on my 16th birthday (hand me down from mom), which I had until I was 22.

6. First car accident/traffic violation.

About 6 months after getting my license, I was stopped for 13 over on the way home from my friends house. I still remember it like it was yesterday!

7. First thing you wanted to be when you grew up.

An astronaut. Doesn’t everyone?

8. First choice beverage.

Probably water. I drink a ton of it!

That’s my awesome water bottle that I keep at work. Who knows what that means?

9. First choice breakfast.

Pancakes

Hands down, my favorite thing to have for breakfast is pancakes. I actually made a really good batch while we were in Florida, but didn’t take a picture or write down the recipe. I’ll have to recreate it soon!

10. First choice dessert.

Probably just ice cream. Or carrot cake.

11. First song that comes to mind…

Va Va Voom because it’s playing on XM radio on my computer right now.

12. First major purchase.

Probably my first car. I’ve purchased a few computers and things like that, but I don’t think those really count.

First Car

13. First job.

I was an intern at an insurance company for three summers during high school. Hey, it paid well!

14. First time you flew on a plane.

I honestly have no idea. I’d have to ask my mom!

Do we have any “firsts” in common?

I’m with you on carrot cake for dessert! It’s definitely one of my all time favorites.

The used towel story is too much. Ewww!

A used towel? Yea…that’s pretty gross.

And wow, you are an early riser. If I’m up before 7:30, I consider it a good day!

A very small town, Tuscumbia, in the north part of Alabama. It’s part of the tri-cities area with Muscle Shoals, Florence, and Sheffield.

Haha love the water bottle ;)

I’ve always chosen ice cream as my favorite dessert. My mom used to bake us cakes for our birthday every year, and I always picked ice cream cake for her to make for me.

AND those pancakes were amazing. Hands down best pancakes I’ve ever had.

I definitely know what RMFT means! Haha. That seriously was a nail biter of a game! I opted out on going to Atl, too. Saving money for Miami! Whoop whoop!
