Last week, I had received a comment from Brett asking me for some music suggestions…
I don’t think my music fits into the “I’m a 21 year old male college student” category, but it gets me pumped up and I enjoy listening to it.
I try to vary my playlist week by week so I am always listening to something new. A lot of songs are included every week (because they are so good), but I always have a few new ones.
What’s on your playlist this week?
I’m always open to some suggestions

I was a little ticked off this morning when I checked the weather. I spent 27 minutes yesterday (I timed myself) changing my bike tire because I wanted to get a few outdoor rides in this week, but the weather is looking pretty terrible.
It was 70 and sunny yesterday…
But it looks like it is going to be wet and cold for the rest of the week
So much for riding outside!
There’s always next week right?
It wasn’t raining too hard when I woke up this morning, so I ran to the gym instead of driving.
I need to save as much gas as possible this week after buying that camera.
Let me know what you guys think of my pictures this week!
Monday Workout
Running: 6.13 miles (to and from the gym)
Elliptical: 70 minutes of intervals
The gym was a freaking sauna today!
Why do they feel the need to keep it at 90 degrees?
I like to sweat when I workout, but I don’t like to feel like I’m in Death Valley.
Anyways, I had a really good workout today! I was really in the mood to do some intervals to jack my heart rate up, so I did this:
- 10 minute warm up
- 4 minutes easy, 1 minute hard X 10
- 10 minute cool down
Intervals always challenge me and keep things interesting. I don’t know how people sit on the cardio machines and plod along at a steady pace. I think I would go insane!
Intervals…
Love em’ or hate em’?

I did intervals for the first time a couple of weeks ago and they weren’t too bad! They made the miles go by faster and it helped to change things up a bit. When I start my half marathon training, I’ll be doing a lot more interval and tempo runs.

I think intervals are the perfect way to break up the monotony of an indoor training session!
love ‘em! They save me from boredom.
Also I did a post with my marathon playlist if you are looking for ideas. We have a bunch of overlap! http://lizrunsdc.com/2011/01/reader-request-playlist-music/

I actually kinda hate them, once I stop running it’s hard for me to get back into it. I rather run the entire time.

LOVE the playlist!
Your blog is great! I love it and can’t wait to read more… I just started my blog about two months ago – it is so addicting
Check it out if you get a chance: http://oatsandspice.wordpress.com
I really enjoy intervals. It makes the time go by faster, especially if I’m running or cycling indoors. They can be physically demanding, but that’s the challenge and fun of doing them!
it could be worse. the high for dallas on Wednesday is 24…yippee
I need to change my music up too – if I play a song too much it loses its motivation for me. I love intervals. They keep things interesting and work on speed and endurance at the same time…really effective!
Also, I would KILL for that weather right now.
Love intervals.
Intervals are all I do lol

Intervals are saving me on the treadmill lately. They keep me interested. Music is also helpful. I have to change up my playlist often and it’s quite a mix of everything from Dropkick Murpheys to Taylor Swift. I love resurrecting old classics to listen to while running.

Hahaha I LOVE that you have Lady Gaga, Kesha, Britney Spears and Glee on your playlist. You should meet my friend Danyelle…it’s like a dance party when you drive with her. I like pop when I work out too, though!
If 61 and rainy depresses you, be glad you’re not here. 25 and wintry mix. Fun fun fun.

My playlist mainly consists of songs by The Strokes, The Arctic Monkeys, The Shins, The Killers, Phoenix, and Linkin Park. Seems like you are quite the Lady Gaga fan haha. Her music is suitable for workouts though!
Darn I had this whole comment written chastising you for not listening to the original “Losing My Religion” and then my ADD kicked in. Oh well.
Anyhoo, play list for me is Hole, Led Zeppelin, Belle and Sebastian…upbeat.
