Restaurant Fire

Today, we have a special guest post from Bama Mom and Bama Dad!

They are currently on vacation and living it up in Florida while I’m stuck at home taking care of the house and watching the dog. Oh, I also have to work…

It’s OK though! Bama Mom and Bama Dad work their asses off every day and definitely deserve a vacation. I hear through the grapevine that their having a good time!

On Sunday, September 18, Bama Mama and I went to the Fire Restaurant in Santa Rosa Beach for Sunday brunch.

The Executive Chef at the Fire Restaurant is Chris Mongogna, who left New Orleans after Hurricane Katrina. The specialty of the Fire Restaurant is New Orleans style Cajun cooking. It was a beautiful sunny day with a breeze blowing off of the ocean, so it was a perfect day to sit outside. We had gone to the Fire Restaurant on Friday night (this was our second meal there in three days in FL) and enjoyed the experience very much. Our waiter was Ryan, who was very friendly and attentive and kept our water and champagne glasses very full. Ryan is from Dallas so we fell into an easy conversation.

Bama Mama had the Florida Lobster and Country Ham Frittata.

The ingredients were Lobster, Ham, and Grana Cheese, served with Mixed Greens on the side. It was amazing, cooked to perfection. The Frittata was firm but not over cooked and had just the right amount of lobster. They serve it with Hollandaise sauce but Bama Mama is not a sauce person and really does not like Hollandaise sauce. They were very accommodating and left if off.

I had the Farm and Bayou Omelet.

The ingredients in the omelet were Louisiana Crawfish Tails, Andouille Sausage, Roasted Peppers and Mixed Cheeses. The Omelet was awesome and the home fries had just the right amount Cajon spices.

For dessert, we had the Key Lime Tart (it was really just for me). We had just the right amount of food and headed off to the beach after brunch.

The Fire Restaurant is located at 7 Town Center Loop in Santa Rosa Beach, Florida. It is a great place to eat and have a great time with friends.

Thanks for the great post dad!

Thanks for the kudos. Bama Mama had a hand in this, too. It was a joint effort. Both dishes were winners.
