I haven’t been writing about running much lately, but I sure as hell have been doing it.
I’ve run at 5 AM, but I’ve also run at 5 PM. I’ve run on the road, the trails, and the treadmill. I’ve run in the sun and the rain. However, I’ve only run in the heat.
I also purchased some new running gear
Life has been busy. Work has been taking up a lot of time, but I’ve also been very involved with tennis while trying to maintain a social life with my friends and family. I love everything that I’ve been doing and I wouldn’t change my schedule for anything. I love being busy, but it forces me to adopt the mentality of “just keep on moving.”
No matter how busy my life gets, I always find time to run. Always. Most days, I wake up at 4:55 AM to get it in, but I do get to enjoy a mid-morning run on the weekends. You always make time for what’s important in life right? What can I say, it’s a way of life. It’s my routine.
Here’s a few reasons WHY it’s a way of life for me:
- Running proves to myself that I’m strong and capable, physically and mentally. Every time I finish a long run or a tough speed workout, I feel accomplished because I know that I’m doing something that very few people are capable of doing.
- I know I’m staying healthy!
- Other runners inspire me. We’re a community of insane, like-minded people with the same goal: Keep running at all costs. Injury? No big deal. Waking up the butt crack of dawn every day? Piece of cake.
- It provides balance in my life. Whether it’s to prepare or unwind, running always helps me relax, focus, and of course, entertained.
What’s something that’s a way of life for you that might be hard for someone else to understand?
