Scenes From The Weekend

by Matt on October 2, 2012

Happy October! Did I just say that? Where is the year going?

This weekend flew by, but that means it was a good one!

It’s starting to become a tradition that I have a bagel for breakfast on Saturday morning. Sometimes sweet, sometimes savory.

Bagel

(Ignore the crumbs. Messy eater in the house!)

By the way, this peanut butter is amazing. Let’s hope I don’t get salmonella!

It basically rained all day on Saturday, so I bummed around all day.

Sunday night, we ended up driving 45 minutes to Forth Worth to find out the restaurant we wanted to go to was closed.

It was an Asian-Mexican fusion restaurant that sounded really neat! We were kind of upset because the hours on their Facebook page and website indicated they would be open. However, when we got there, there were employees inside sitting around with the door locked and open sign off.

Since we were in the mood for Mexican food, we went to Blue Mesa, which I can always count on to be good.

I love the sweet potato chips they bring out. We basically demolished the basket and left most of the “normal” chips behind :)

They have the best tacos!

I had one chicken taco, one pulled pork taco (the best), and one salmon taco. My sides were sweet potato hash and black beans.

Mmm…

And that’s all I’ve got for today!

How was your weekend?

I’m sorry, but I had to laugh – you wrote I “bummed around all gay.” I think you meant you bummed around all DAY…?? Maybe not ;)

That restaurant sounds right up my alley! You know you’re a nut butter fan when salmonella isn’t enough to hold you back. ;)

I love unique Mexican food. Sweet potato hash with a salmon taco sounds perfect. I’ve been making salmon tortilla pizzas with sweet potato spread. They go so well together!

Pretty sure that is on the list of recalled PB. With that being said, I would probably continue to eat it as well. Peanut butter/Almond butter is one heck of an addiction…

Asian and Mexican fusion? Yea, I’d drive 45 minutes for that. Awful that it was closed! Your backup seemed acceptable though. :-)

Scary stuff about the PB recall… I guess it’s times like this that I can actually be thankful for my peanut allergy lol.

oh man! haha. It is so like me to forget that there has been a pb recall! 0_0 Sometimes I read and hear about stuff, then forget 5 minutes later. I hope you do stay healthy after eating the pb! :D And salmon is one of my absolute favorites! Good choice…

LOve sweet potato chips instead of the regular. You wouldn’t find many restaurants in Orlando serving up sweet potatoes.
