This weekend has felt way too short. So many things to do, yet not enough time!
You know what, I’m totally OK with that. I don’t really mind “the weekly grind” anymore since I’ve developed a work/life balance that works for me. It also helps that my new job really promotes actually having a life. We start a little bit later and it’s very rare that we work after 5 PM (and coming in on a weekend is thought to be a sin). Plus, we have a great time there and the atmosphere is very laid back. I basically love it.
Don’t get me wrong though, I still love the weekends!
One of the perks is that I can sleep in AND get in longer workouts.
That 90 minute spin workout basically destroyed me. Afterwards, I did my three mile cool down and my planks. I’m finally up to three minutes!
Hydration was necessary.
Recently, I’ve started drinking coconut water a lot more. The heat here is ridiculous and I’m doing everything I can to stay hydrated, especially considering how active I am. While other people at tennis are drinking Gatorade, I have one of these!
Another perk is that I can make pancakes.
I made these using my basic whole wheat batter, but added walnuts and banana slices. Of course they were topped with some pure maple syrup for good measure
Oh, yesterday, I made the 45 minute trip to the new Trader Joe’s in Fort Worth because I’m obsessed with their crunchy peanut butter.
Man, that place is tiny, but it was packed full of people. I still prefer Whole Foods and Central Market, but they have some neat things here. I’ve heard that they’re opening one a little bit closer to my area, so hopefully I can make it out there every once and awhile. You know, when I need more crunchy peanut butter (and less important things).
What is your favorite thing about the weekend?

worth going out to the TJs?
It was alright. Maybe we should make the trip together at some point?
I was just in Ft. Worth. We won the job, so I’ll be out there a few times this fall. Would love to meet up for dinner one night!

I think it’s called the pin it button. LOL.
Having a job you actually enjoy is so important. I’m glad you have found a good fit for you! And I’m very jealous of your Trader Joes, even if it is a tiny one, ha ha. I need to make a trip to one very soon. I need a major TJ’s restock!

I don’t have a Trader Joe’s too close to me either, but that’s okat because I am more of a Whole Foods girl anyway.
Your pancakes look delicious!
I wish we only worked Mon-Thurs. That way I could do cleaning, grocery shopping, lesson plans(Kteacher) on Friday. Sat would be sleeping in(like 7 or8), long run, yummy pancakes with p.b, and family/relax time. Sun would be church, nap church. It would be awesome!! I just went to Trader Joe’s for the 1st time Sat too!! It is an hr away and just opened Fri. I was wondering if you could do a post on your favorite things from there. Also, I could read the comments and see what others buy. I LOVED Trader Joe’s and will be shopping there ALOT.
Mmm! I love Trader Joe’s PB too!
Have you tried the one with flaxseeds in it? If not, you really need to!

Trader Joe’s has the BEST crunchy peanut butter. I just bought 4 jars of it to stock up before I move back to school. I hoping that will last me until I come home again!
