I love cheese. That’s a fact.
Actually, who doesn’t?
Lo and behold, there is a very good reason for this. The intense flavors. The textures. The melty goodness. The way it accents fruit, eggs, and salads. Of course, you can’t forget the infamous grilled cheese sandwich.
By the way, this is my newest obsession…
Applewood Smoked Goat Cheddar
Over the years, I’ve tasted dozens of different cheeses. Each has a different flavor, aroma, and texture.
- It’s the ultimate no-junk, fast food. Apple slices and cheese are one of my favorite snacks!
- It has the most incredible range of flavours and textures. There’s even a cheese for every mood!
- It lends itself to an amazing variety of recipes
- It’s pure comfort food. Especially when it’s melted.
A lot of people give cheese a bad rap for being high in fat (mainly saturated), but it can easily fit into a healthy diet.
Not only is cheese is a source of high quality protein and calcium, but it’s also a good source of phosphorus, zinc, viatmin A, riboflavin, and vitamin B12.
Reduced fat cheese is good for someone who is trying to cut calories, but I would much rather eat a smaller portion of the real thing. A little bit of full fat cheese goes a long way can I can really add a lot of flavor to a meal or snack.
